Key Takeaways
“How much will it cost?” is usually the first question patients ask me, and it deserves a straight answer with real numbers. A hair transplant in Turkey typically costs a third or less of what the same procedure costs in the United States or the United Kingdom, and the price usually covers the hotel, transfers and medication as well.
What most price lists do not tell you is why one Istanbul clinic charges $1,800 (€1,500) and another $7,100 (€6,000) for what looks like the same operation. This page explains that difference, shows what I charge and what is included, and lists the costs that sit outside any package, so you can compare quotes on equal terms. For the procedure itself, start with my hair transplant guide; for the trip and safety checks, see hair transplant in Turkey.
How Much Does a Hair Transplant Cost in Turkey in 2026?
Most all-inclusive hair transplant packages in Turkey cost between $2,350 and $5,900 (€2,000–€5,000) in 2026. Clinics usually quote in euros as a fixed package rather than per graft, and a typical package includes the operation, blood tests, local anaesthesia, medication, a few hotel nights, airport and clinic transfers, an interpreter and aftercare products.
The US figure comes from 2026 financing data from US hair restoration practices; the UK average comes from a survey of 58 UK clinics, where quotes for the same patient ranged from £1,995 to £15,000 (€2,390–€17,940). A full country comparison follows further down.
What the Price Difference Really Buys
Patients often assume the gap between a $1,800 (€1,500) and a $7,100 (€6,000) quote is about the hotel or the brand. It is mostly about one thing: who performs the steps that decide your result. Hairline design and opening the recipient channels set the angle, direction and density of every hair. The more of that work the surgeon does personally, the more the procedure costs, because a surgeon can only do it for a limited number of patients.
Whichever tier you choose, ask every clinic the same question in writing: “Which steps will the surgeon perform personally, and which will the team perform?” Two quotes are only comparable when the answer is the same.
My Price and What It Includes
I operate at Smile Hair Clinic in Istanbul. When you book a procedure performed by me, it is the clinic’s Diamond package, which has one fixed price however many grafts your plan needs.
Smile Hair Clinic also offers lower-priced packages, planned by other doctors on the team, from €2,390 ($2,820 · £2,000). They suit many patients well. The full comparison is on the clinic’s cost page, and I explain what each type of package covers on my hair transplant packages page.
Does the technique change the price?
At some clinics, yes: DHI or unshaven procedures can cost more than standard Sapphire FUE because they take longer. I choose the technique for your hair and goals, not to change the price, and my fixed price stays the same. The differences between methods are on my hair transplant techniques page.
How Much Do 2,000, 3,000 or 5,000 Grafts Cost in Turkey?
In Turkey, the graft number rarely changes the price. In my experience, around 90% of clinics here sell all-inclusive packages with one fixed price, and only one or two still calculate the cost by the number of grafts. At clinics with fixed packages, including mine, the price is the same whether you need 2,000 or 5,000 grafts. If you do receive a graft-based quote, typical figures in 2026 look like this:
Typical graft-based quotes in Turkey, mostly for team-led procedures. Surgeon-performed procedures cost more.
How graft numbers are calculated, and how to compare a per-graft quote with a package, is on my hair transplant cost per graft page.
Hair Transplant Cost: Turkey vs the US and UK
These comparisons are often presented as if the operation were the same everywhere. It is not always, so read the numbers alongside the question of who performs the procedure. With that caveat, this is how typical prices compare:
So even after flights, a patient from New York, London or Los Angeles usually spends less in Istanbul, and often still does at the surgeon-performed level. The saving is real; the mistake is to treat it as the only factor. In this video my co-founder at Smile Hair Clinic, Dr. Mehmet Erdoğan, explains where the price difference between Turkey, the UK and the US comes from, and why you should compare value rather than the headline price.

Costs Outside the Package
“All-inclusive” has no legal definition, so always ask for the list in writing. Even with a complete package, plan for these:
Why Hair Transplants Cost Less in Turkey
The lower price is not a trick. Salaries, rent, insurance and other running costs are much lower in Istanbul than in London or New York, the exchange rate favours visitors paying in euros, dollars or pounds, and strong competition keeps prices down. High volume also makes clinics efficient: teams that perform hair transplants every day work faster and waste less.
What should not be cheaper is the medicine itself. Some things cost the same in every country and should never be cut to win on price:
- the surgeon’s time on the steps that decide your result
- sterile, single-use instruments and a proper operating room
- careful graft handling, so grafts spend as little time outside the body as possible
- follow-up once you are back home
If a quote is far below every other reputable clinic, one of these has usually been removed.
The Real Cost of a Cheap Hair Transplant
The most expensive hair transplant is the one you have to repair. A poor first procedure can waste donor follicles that can never be replaced, leave an unnatural hairline or overharvested patches at the back of the head, and then cost far more to fix than a good operation would have cost in the first place. Repair cases now make up a growing share of hair restoration surgeons’ work: in the ISHRS 2025 Practice Census, 10% of repairs followed a black-market transplant, up from 6% in 2021.
What you are really paying for is a result that still looks natural in ten years. This is one of mine: 4,000 grafts at nine months.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hair Transplant Cost in Turkey
How much is a hair transplant in Turkey?
Most all-inclusive packages cost $2,350–$5,900 (€2,000–€5,000) in 2026. A procedure performed personally by a senior surgeon usually costs more; mine is €5,790 ($6,840 · £4,840) as a fixed price, including three hotel nights, transfers, PRP, exosome therapy and 12 months of follow-up.
How much do 5,000 grafts cost in Turkey?
Clinics that price by graft band typically quote $4,000–$5,000 (€3,400–€4,250) for 5,000 grafts. At clinics with fixed packages the price does not change with the graft count. Whether you should have 5,000 grafts in one session depends on your donor area, not the price.
How much does it cost to get 3,000 grafts in Turkey?
Typical per-band quotes for 3,000 grafts are $2,700–$4,000 (€2,300–€3,400). With a fixed package, 3,000 grafts cost the same as any other number your plan requires.
Are there hidden costs?
There should not be. A reputable clinic gives you the full list of what is included before you book. Expect to pay separately for flights, meals other than breakfast, extra hotel nights and travel insurance.
Is a hair transplant in Turkey worth the money?
For most patients, yes, as long as the choice is based on the surgeon rather than the lowest price. Even a surgeon-performed procedure in Istanbul usually costs less than a mid-range one in the US or UK, including travel.
Will I need to pay for a second session?
Not everyone needs one. Some patients reach their goal in one session; others choose a second procedure years later because their hair loss continues. A second session is a new procedure with its own price and is planned at least 12 months after the first.
In which currency are prices quoted?
Most Turkish clinics, including Smile Hair Clinic, set their prices in euros. On this page I show US dollars first with euros in brackets, converted at about €1 = $1.18 (October 2026); UK prices are shown in pounds, at about £1 = €1.20. If you pay in dollars or pounds, the exchange rate on the day you pay will change the final amount slightly.
Why do some clinics quote much lower prices than others?
Usually because less of the work is done by a doctor, the hotel and extras are reduced, or the clinic is not a licensed health institution. Ask who performs each step and where the operation takes place before comparing prices.
